G.O.Buffalo Needs Volunteers for Upcoming Events

Every Thursday, during Thursday in the Square at Lafayette Square, Green Options Buffalo is providing a bicycle valet service.

To volunteer, meet at the corner of Main and Mohawk at 5:30pm on any Thursday throughout the summer. The bicycle valet runs from 5:30pm until the end of Thursday in the Square performances (sometime around 10pm). Contact G.O.Buffalo to conform at 851-4052 or buffalobluebikes@gmail.com.

Green Options Buffalo needs volunteers to help us run a massive used bicycle collection this Saturday at the GM Powertrain facility for our Buffalo Blue Bicycle and Recycle-A-Bicycle programs. The bicycle collection is just one part of GM's Recycling Day - a roundup of computer and electronic equipment, cellular phones, rechargeable batteries, etc., as well as bicycles. GM has advised us to be prepared for up to one thousand used bicycle donations, so we need some volunteers! The used bicycle collection starts at 9am and runs until 2pm at the GM Powertrain facility on Vulcan Street between River Road and Kenmore Avenue. By bicycle, from the city center, you can take the river walk north to Riverside Park, which is next across the street from the facility. By car, you can take the 190 northbound from the city center. Green Options Buffalo will be having a table and running a Bicycle at the Allen West and Elmwood arts festivals. We will be looking for volunteers to help out at these events as well. The Allen West Festival coincides with the Allentown Arts Festival and runs Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm the second weekend in June.
